Restaurants you must visit in St. James Town

St. James Town is a community known notably for its high-rise buildings. However, few people realize that you can eat cuisines from around the world all within a few blocks. You can find restaurants specializing in Korean, Filipino, Caribbean, Indian foods and more - all in St. James Town.

Here are three must-visit restaurants in St. James Town.

Tinuno is a Filipino restaurant located at 31 Howard Street, located near Sherbourne Street & Howard Street. Tinuno means to cook on a grill or over a hot with extreme heat. They have a wide variety of Filipino cuisines like Tapsilog consisting of smoky beef tapa, garlic rice, 2 eggs + salad. Another interesting dish is Bangsilog. This dish consists of Bangus belly, garlic rice, 2 eggs + salad. To top it off, I recommend that you can end with a beautiful suman dessert. In the words of one dinner,“ the food here delicious, a perfect spot to bring your girl on national girlfriend day ha, ha..” At Tinuno, you can eat foods from all over the Philippines in one restaurant in St. James Town.

You do not need to travel to Korea to try kimchi fried rice or veggie bibimbap. You can find it all here at Seoul Food Take-Out located at 606 Sherbourne Street. At Seoul Food Take-Out they have daily specials like Korean Chicken Curry, street food, soup, and many more. My favourite dish is the Korean Spicy Pork special served only on Thursdays. The dish features shredded bacon and is served in a Korean spicy sauce. Seoul Food Take-Out is open on weekdays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Come to Seoul Food Take-Out to taste delicious authentic Korean cooking.

Tender Trap is a restaurant I use to visit regularly. It is a good restaurant. I really like their noodle dish… it’s been a while since I went there so I do not remember what it was called. Tender Trap is a Chinese restaurant specializing in Cantonese & Sichuan Chinese food. Tender Trap is located at 580 Parliament Street, near Wellesley and Parliament. They are open from 11 am to 10 pm every day of the week, even on WEEKENDS!. Tender Trap has a sea of foods to choose from. You can start your meal off with their deep-fried squid, then have their amazing Cantonese Chow Mein. Then you can finish it off with some beverages and DO YOU KNOW, they offer bubble tea as well. My favourite bubble tea there is a regular sized Mango Boba. They offer cuisines from China and you can eat it in one restaurant.

Tinuno, Seoul Food Take-Out and Tender Trap are just some of the restaurants you should visit in St. James Town but there are many more multi-ethnic restaurants here. I suggest you go on a road trip and taste cuisines from countries all around the world, all within a few blocks in St. James Town.
